Due to the fact that 87% of you voted for more art, this time, ancient art from some museums of the world where I have been. Pergamon Museum in Berlin: it was built between 1910 and 1930 and it was the last offive museums to be constructed on the Island Museum Complex in Berlin. The Museum was built to have 3 separate wings housing the Collection fo Classical Antiquities ( with Greek and Roman architecture), The museum of the Ancient Near East and the Museum of Islamic Art. For sure, the main attraction of Pergamon Museum is Pergamon Altar (170 B.c) with his masterpiece frieze with Hellenistic sculpture representing the battle between gods and giants. In the pictures see some pieces of Mesopotamian Art and Islamic decorations from the Mshatta facade of the residential palace of Caliph al Walid II Jordan. The main attraction of the Ancient Near East wing is the Ishtar Gate with its colorful blue splendour dating back to the time of Nebuchadnezzar II.
