Paola Monaco di Arianello was born in Genoa in 1982. She graduated Industrial Design at the Faculty of Architecture of Genoa and at the University of Lapland – Lapin Yliopisto (Faculty of Art and Design), and then at the Politecnico of Milano. She experiments a lot with lighting design and she uses the light to define architectural spaces like those here. She uses different types of light: the diffused light, direct and indirect, operational, dynamic, wall washer, signal and spot light to create beautiful visual harmonies.
The idea is to have less materials used and less energy consum, just to enjoy the place with an ambiental light. The systems used are modular, they are linear devices that can be installed in the floor, into the ceiling or the wall, suspended. Everything has a simple, clear design.
