Cradle, experimental structure with spheres

On the exterior wall of a parking lot in Santa Monica, California, you can see this huge modern sculpture made out of multiple balls squeezed together and self organized under the effect of gravity. It seems like a huge eye that looks at you, or like a mirror that reflects people walking nearby, cars and architecture. The glittering structure remind us of Newton’s Cradle here. The designers visualised this previously on some renderings made by computer and then they actually produced these mirror polished spheres in steel. Every ball is hanged by a cable having a special length that allows every sphere to be placed in a special position to create an effect of three-dimensionality. By Ball-Nogues Studio. Via here.
