Snarkitecture by Daniel Arsham and Alex Mustonen

Snarkitecture was established by Alex Mustonen and Daniel Arsham and is represented by Galerie Emmanuel Perrotin. The two artists work in domaines like art and architecture and they share same visions about structures and textures, colors, volumes and design. Their aim is to create the unexpected and to surprise. Among their projects there is The Richard Chai store in New York, a design idea that was born in collaboration with Richard Chai.
The interior design was created from a single block piece that was carved as you can see below. The white textured foam was manually cut to produce these dynamic volumes leaving the impression of a cave in ice. The cuttings are not regular and they create an original design for the shop. The ceiling
and the walls create a varied landscape for the clothes that are displayed. Shelves and hang bars are disposed in every niche there is. Everything is white, just the shadows and the lighted elements of the design give the impression of some blue-ish shades here and there. Nice tipical Snarkitecture excavation architecture! Photos by
