Intergalaxy traffic light, Bajabua, The cocoons, Awaiting for a change, Portal keeper. These are some of the funny names the artist Viktor Mazhlekov chooses for his lovely creations that you can buy as prints, oil on canvas, funny cups or postcards. Viktor Mazhlekov is a 360 degrees artist: he is passioned about drawings, oil paintings, sculptures and even architecture and recently he wanted to see his characters alive. So he met Simeon Sokerov and they collaborated on this project. The movie describes the story of a little girl and her dog, who are on their way to get some ice cream. Its name is “5 times” because the story is told from five different perspectives. The name of the part for which he did the paintings is “Somewhere”. See the movie here.

Do you have some artwork since you were a child?

My start was when I was 2 years old, maybe younger, I don’t remember. I have a lot drawings from my young childhood. My parents provoke me by tossing over the pencils to my side when I was 2 years old. All paintings from that time are somewhere at home…

Why did you choose this medium to express yourself?
Oooo, that is question that I can’t answer directly, all this is a proces in our subconscious, when I feel something I do it. In art everything is feelings, emotions and our intentions are only on the top of this proces, no one can explain what is hiding deep inside.

When and how did you find your style?

The style find me, of course I put many years of hard work in it…
How do you work?
Sitting behind my tripod – he he. Seriously, when I need to expres something I sit down and start working, it’s that simple:)
What inspires you?
Lot of things: good music, interesting people, trips… I think in fact every single moment of my life inspires me in a way.

What themes do you pursue?

I didn’t pursue any themes, I don’t need that. The drawing for me is like playing game, just play and enjoy, this is.
What’s your favorite art work?
I have many favorites, I mean many! When I must chose some images for such interviews I’m in big dilema :))
How important are awards?
When an artist creates only for the process of creation, it is not important. But when he wants to be famous and rich, it is very important. As about me, I think I’m in the middle:)

Some advices?

Universe exists to evolve, but evolution is a creative process, it is embedded deep within us because we are part of the universe. Be creative and do it with a heart.
