Darcy Miro, contemporary jewelry design

Darcy Miro creates amazing  rings, and neckpieces, sculptures and installations using a very personal technique like you can see below. Miro pierces, pulls, and otherwise batters her wax casts to reflect forces of nature few jewelry designers choose to explore:erosion, decomposition, eruption. She uses silver and sometimes gold.

These jewelry designs remind me of those of the Romanian jeweler Elena Crisan: they both play with the material and they both like erosion of all kind.  I love the unexpected forms she creates, the textures on the surface and the fact that these are more than jewelry, they are wearable sculptures with grainly treatment.
