Christopher Boffoli is a photographer, writer, artist and filmmaker. While still an undergraduate he started his own commercial photography company. Christopher is one of the few artists out there that are able to integrate their creative skills in more than one art form, including writing, photography and graphic design. Christopher Boffoli played with food to create the „Big Appetites” series, recreating everyday scenes using food and toy figures. The photographs from the Big Appetites series present tiny, meticulously detailed figures posed in real food environments, referencing both a fascination with tiny things as well as an enthusiasm for excess, especially in the realm of food, chocolate and sweets.

Creative and funny, the scenes depict food in a way that is both beautiful and a little monstrous. The images look amazingly creative and fun, leaving us thinking about how different things are perceived according to their size. His images take us in a „Alice in Wonderland” journey into the amazing world of food and miniatures. The images look delicious, especially the ones illustrating oversize sweets or chocolate, my favorites. Christopher says: “Coming up with an interesting image is only half the battle – a caption that will make people smile is also a big part of my work.” And he sure managed to make us smile with his impressive photography. The photographs have been published in more than 90 countries around the world. See more images from the „Big Appetites” series here.
